Summary

We collect your WhatsApp number, the messages you send us, the workshop you choose, and basic vehicle and location information. We use it to match you with a workshop. We never sell personal data. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

1. What we collect

Depending on how you use OGScout, we may collect:

• From drivers: Your name (if provided), WhatsApp phone number, message content, vehicle make/model/year/plate (when shared), neighborhood-level location, and the workshop and price you confirmed.
• From workshops: Business name, owner name, business phone number, trade license number, premises address, specialties, capacity, bank details for payouts, and performance metrics (response time, ratings, etc.).
• Automatically: Timestamps of messages, the device fingerprint of the operator console session, and IP address for security auditing.

2. Why we collect it

We collect personal information to:

• Match drivers with appropriate workshops
• Coordinate appointments and follow up on completed work
• Process workshop subscription payments and payouts
• Detect fraud, abuse, and unsafe behavior on the platform
• Improve the service, including operator training
• Comply with UAE legal obligations including consumer protection and anti-money-laundering law

3. Who we share with

We share data only as needed to deliver the service:

• Workshops receive job summaries (vehicle, issue, neighborhood) when we broadcast a request. They receive your name and phone number only after you confirm a quote with them.
• Service providers like WhatsApp (Meta), our payment processor, and our cloud infrastructure provider. These parties process data on our behalf under strict contracts.
• Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information under UAE law or pursuant to a valid court order.

We do not sell personal data to third parties. We do not share data for advertising.

4. How long we keep it

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet legal obligations:

• Conversation logs: 24 months
• Confirmed job records (for dispute and tax purposes): 7 years
• Workshop performance metrics: as long as the workshop is active, plus 24 months
• Account closure: most data is deleted within 30 days, except records we must keep by law

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything inaccurate
• Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements
• Object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent at any time (which won't affect lawful processing already done)

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to personal data is limited to staff who need it for their roles, with audit logging. We perform regular security reviews and run an internal incident response process.

That said, no system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll notify you and the UAE Data Office promptly.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers (e.g. WhatsApp/Meta) are based outside the UAE. When we transfer personal data abroad, we ensure equivalent protections through standard contractual clauses or other approved mechanisms.

8. Children

OGScout is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated via the WhatsApp channel and posted here. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent version.
